Scary...
So, this morning I was cleaning up the kitchen, when Sawyer runs in and exclaims, "Mommy Look! I found bug!"
She then proceeds to open up her tiny hand, and there is a half squashed, but still very much alive, dime sized spider! Okay, maybe dime-sized is a bit of an exaggeration, but still...it wasn't little. There was even a little hair hair on its body, making it even more ferocious. In my book, there is nothing more NASTY (aside from snakes, of course) than spiders. I just know there are more around here somewhere...*shudder*
I'll be informing my husband that we are going to need to spray for spiders ASAP!
Oh, and a side note: I think it's COMPLETE GARBAGE that Danny Gokey got voted off Idol last night. Seriously...I might boycott the show, because I now honestly believe its set-up. So disappointing.

Time For A Baby Pool...
A couple of weeks ago, we had an abnormally warm day. I mean, it was hot. And what do all little girls want to do on a hot day? Go swimming of course! We haven't bought Sawyer a baby pool for this summer yet, so this is what I came up with: A storage bin from our basement! I don't think she minded her little makeshift pool a a bit...as you can see from the pictures, she was having a ball. Hey, whatever works, right?

Pretty Girl...
After I ran some errands today, Mom came over and helped me put in all my flowers at the house. Sawyer thoroughly enjoyed playing in the dirt (as usual,) but before she got completely filthy I was able to take a few pictures of her playing in the back yard looking sweet! The last pic is my favorite...she has the most beautiful eyes.

Mother's Day...
My Mother's day was fabulous...
We went to church this morning, and afterward we all went over to Mom and Dad's and grilled steaks, opened gifts, and spent some time together outside in the beautiful weather!
My SWEET husband went WAY overboard this Mothers Day...above and beyond :) He and Sawyer (he informed me the presents were from both of them,) got me a gift certificate for a massage at Z-spa, a new tripod for my camera, two of my favorite candles, a beautiful bouquet of pink shag roses, and also wrote me the most precious cards Ive ever read. He's so good to me. Its such a blessing to be Preston's wife and Sawyer's Mommy. Its looking like I'm going to have to step it up a notch this year for Fathers Day!
Mom and Dad got me a gift certificate for a pedicure, another gorgeous bouquet of flowers, and Mom made me the cutest new monogrammed diaper bag! I'll have to post some pictures of it later...she did an awesome job. My Mamaw got me a dozen yellow roses, and they smell so good! Our family really doesn't do Christmas with all the gifts and such, so we do a little more on other "holidays," especially things like Mothers/Fathers Day, and birthdays.
After lunch, Mom, Mamaw and I went shopping for flowers to put out for this summer at all of our houses. I wanted to put mine out before we left for vacation, but I never got the chance.
I was so glad that I was able to spend the entire day with my mom. My Mother's Day was exceptionally wonderful this year. I hope everyone else had a wonderful Mother's day too!
Vacation...
We're back home and feeling rejuvenated from our family vacation...we had such a great time!
It rained every day except for one, but we still had so much fun, and more importantly we got to relax and enjoy each others company. It felt so nice to have nothing on our schedule for an entire week! The resort where we stayed had just put in a brand new indoor pool/gym/rec center, and it was awesome. Sawyer loved going swimming almost every morning, and she looked too sweet in her new "baby-suit," as she calls it. Swimming flat wore her out, and she was more than ready for her naps each day. It was also nice because Preston and I were able to nap while she slept.
There was a lake right behind of our condo, so when it wasn't raining, Preston was able to literally step right out our back door and go fishing! There were also 4 really nice playgrounds at the resort, but unfortunately I was only able to take Sawyer one day because it was so wet :(
One day, Preston and I took Sawyer down to the marina and let her feed the fish. There were HUGE catfish popping up right out of the water on front of us, and she was loving it! We considered putting Sawyer in a life-jacket and renting a paddle boat to go explore a little, but I'm not that brave yet. I could just picture her having a complete meltdown out there, and we'd be stuck in the middle of a huge lake with nowhere to go. Maybe next year...
In the evenings, my family made dinner together and then we'd go back to our villa and play cards or watch movies... just relax :) One pretty neat (and kind of random) thing we did while we were down there was visit this ENORMOUS (8000 square ft) tree house this man built. Its called "The Ministers Tree house," and it is really a sight to behold! There is a really interesting story behind it, so if you re ever bored, check it out online. There were also some neat little shops and a nice outlet mall in the town where we stayed, and one day, all of us girls took off for a few hours and went shopping and out to lunch.
I'm pleased to say that Sawyer did WAY better on the ride to and from vacation than we expected! A 5 hours is a long time for and almost 2 year old to sit still in a car seat, but she didn't cry once. I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that my grandparents loaned us a portable DVD player, so she was content to watch Veggie Tales much of the time.
We're glad to be back home, and feeling very thankful that we were able to get away for a while! I cant wait for our next adventure...
